Otakon

So, I went to Otakon this past weekend and I had a ton of fun. Last year was the first year that I had gone, and I've come to like it quite a lot. This year, I went with my friends Morgan, Mary, Mandy, and a girl that went to Japan with Morgan and Mary named Onica. Morgan brought me a really cool mechanical pencil and cellphone charm that I put on my DS from Japan. I also managed to snag a sheet of golden poo stickers. I was lucky enough to spot this awesome bag in Spencer's a couple of days before I went that I planning on using as my backpack once school rolls around. It ended up being perfect as a bag to carry my stuff in.

I don't feel like writing about what I did every day, so I'll just say a few fun things that I did. I went to the Gaia Online panel on Friday which was pretty crazy. They gave away a ton of things there. I ended up winning a 2007 convention tour t-shirt from the Gaia booth in the Dealer's Room which was pretty cool. I also bought a ton of stuff while I was at otakon. This included a stuffed cat inside of sushi, 8 cellphone charms, a Death Note, a coco kitty plushie, a japanese pen, and a mini MarioKart DS case for my game. The Dealer's Room is the reason that I burned through all of the cash that I took with me.

I also went to the Eminence concert on Sunday, which was amazing. Eminence is an orchestra from Australia hat specializes in videogame and anime music. they also brought a famous composer from Japan with them. The music was exctremely good, and I am very glad that I had the opportunity to hear them play. You can see a few videos of them preforming on youtube if you care to look them up.

All in all, I had a really good time. The only negative thing about it all was the fact that my legs wanted to fall off at the end, and how exhausted I was; but it's a small price to pay.
